In 2016, Planet Fitness moved their corporate headquarters from a 20,000 sq ft space in Newington, NH to a 70,000 sq ft office building in Hampton, NH,  which presented the company with an opportunity to brand a campus that truly reflected their culture.

“Our vision was to totally ‘Planet-ize’ it—we wanted to make it our own,” says Caitlin Holmes, Director of Events and Facilities at Planet Fitness. “It wouldn’t look right without Northeast Color to do that level of branding for us.”

dimensional Dibond Logo

Looking to land a knockout first impression in the lobby, Northeast Color’s design team created a layered dibond cutout logo mounted on black acrylic and set off with purple LED backlighting.

The Giant Floating Gear

The designers also pulled in Planet Fitness’ iconic ceiling gears which, in keeping with maximal theme, received a significant boost in size.

Ranging in width from 5’ to 10’, each 8” thick gear was custom fabricated in an acrythane composite material, which kept the over-sized gears light enough to tolerate suspension above the reception area and cafeteria.

Edge lit Acrylic partition

In addition to the gears, the campus’ cafeteria also features a stunning, edge-lit glass partition wall detailed with knockout gear etching. To illuminate the top and bottom of the partition with custom LED strips, the four glass panels were floated inside an aluminium u-channel frame with a series of acrylic blocks.

PF Video Wall

Northeast Color’s plug-and-play digital signage platform also played a role in the cafeteria, with an eye-popping three screen video wall running a custom PF corporate reel, all created and managed in-house by Northeast Color.

PF Wallcovering

Long a staple in Planet Fitness’ Clubs, Northeast Color’s branded wallcovering appears on the accent wall of each of the building’s 150 offices and was further customized for the executive offices and conference rooms.

  • Northeast Color took ownership of the branding of the inside of the building, which allowed myself and my staff to focus on other elements of the building.  They took it and ran with it and it came out beautiful.
